Water is Life! This is a common saying which I ultimately believe. The benefits of drinking water in the morning can not be overemphasized.

Many times I have been dehydrated and tried to quench my thirst with fluid, but couldn’t lay hands on the water at the moment except fruits or soft drinks; I can say of a truth that nothing can be compared with the satisfaction that comes from water intake.

The existence of this natural resource has more health benefits than we think we know. Although, it could be tasteless or bare on the taste bud, much unlike other liquid intakes of sweetened yogurt, natural or artificial juice, smoothies, wines, and so on.

The most important information about it is that it is more and highly beneficial to our overall well-being. The health benefits of drinking water in the morning is enormous.

More so, unlike other liquid consumption, water has little or no nutritional disadvantage to the health and it contains zero calories. Little wonder nutritionists and health experts recommend only water intake for a healthy lifestyle and long life span.

benefits of drinking water in the morning

These are not the only health benefits associated with drinking water first thing in the morning immediately you wake up, the following are also included. Let us take a look at these amazing health benefits.

1. Body Hydration

Your body contains more than 50% water, which is a necessity for keeping it hydrated and fresh. Water is the best natural solution to achieving that.

When you sleep, your body becomes dehydrated due to the long hours of no intake of any substance; hence the reason for dryness and dehydration. It is medically advisable that water should be taken first thing in the morning before any other activity.

This is my routine. I recently wrote on how I spend my day productively which I would encourage you to inculcate into your daily routine as well. Immediately I drink a minimum of a full glass of water, I notice a sensation in my belly and off to the restroom. You can start yours too.

2. Ease of regularities

Water is one of the ways you can ease out your feces. You can start by drinking more water after dinner and apply the first tip mentioned above in the morning.

However, some people find it challenging to drink water on an empty stomach, you can make warm water inside a warmer or water flask before you go to bed the previous night.

It would still retain its hotness or warmness. With this, you would feel more comfortable drinking water to ease out. I have tried this tip many times and it works for me.

More so, if you find it difficult to ease out conveniently or for days without visiting the toilet, then you may consider drinking a glass of water every morning.

3. Exits Toxins

Drinking water in the morning can help your body stay healthy against toxins. I use this therapy for detoxification and it is very effective. Drinking water on an empty stomach removes all the toxins from your body and helps cleanses your system against harmful bacteria.

4. Fastens Metabolism

Intake of water in the morning can help speed up your metabolism rate. If you are considering losing some pounds off your body, then this therapy will work perfectly for you by increasing the number of calories you burn throughout the day and keep you full.

5. Enhances healthy heart and kidney

Water intake in the morning gives your kidneys the ability to cleanse the toxins accumulated over the night. When you do this, it makes it easier for blood to circulate in your body.

More so, it will increase the volume of urine that passes through your kidney and dampens the minerals found there. All these are ways of preventing the kidney from the stone formation.

When you drink water on an empty stomach in the morning, it will prevent bladder infections and help dilute the acids.

6. Improves brain function

When you drink water first thing in the morning, you are helping your mental health function effectively. The human brain is made up of over 70% water, so it essentially requires some daily amount of water to retain its capacity.

You should not get to the stage of dehydration before you drink sufficient water, mostly when you wake up in the morning. This therapy also helps the brain to perform excellently.

7. Aids healthy weight loss

I remember when I just put to bed and I added extra pounds, I didn’t like it because I have always wanted to maintain my weight before childbirth. But pregnancy and breastfeeding changed the narrative. So, I approached my nutritionist for help and she recommended early morning water therapy.

Soon after I started this therapy, I observed some changes in my body, which led me to check out my weight. Surprisingly, I had dropped some few pounds. Apart from my daily diet of a little extra because of my state, I did not feel unnecessarily hungry or cravings for junks; so it helped put me in shape.

This can also be as a result of the zero calories in water which helps flushes out any amount of toxins from the body.

8. Helps improve the skin

Drinking water in the morning can help your skin stay healthy, bright, and smooth. By doing this, it flushes out the toxins from the body, and, makes your skin glow and brilliant.

One of the causes of early wrinkles in the skin is dehydration, which regular intake of water may cure.

9. Improves Healthy and Strong Hair

Apart from the health benefits of water on the body and skin, it also improves healthy and strong hair. The hair is one of the growing parts of the body which requires water intake.

Drinking water immediately after you wake up improves the quality of your hair and keep it shiny and full. 1/4th of the hair makes up water; therefore inadequate intake of water can make the hair strand fragile and weak. Regular intake of water improves and enhances the quality of hair.

10. Immune System Booster

Developing the habit of drinking a minimum of one liter of water first thing in the morning helps flush out toxins that reduce the performance of the immune system. During the early stage of the covid-19 pandemic, one of the therapies I adopted was an increased intake of water. Carbonated drinks were a no-no for me.

Furthermore, water helps improves and boosts the immune system and aids its fight against illnesses and various kinds of infections.

Why not grasp a glass of water this morning and next and next?
