You would identify the unripe fruit when it is still green in color. It gradually becomes yellow-green when it is mature and a bit softer when you press it with your fingers or full palm.

You can buy the unripe fruit and store it at room temperature while you preserve the mature fruit in the refrigerator. The maturity usually takes a few days to ripen.

There are ways you can enjoy this custard-apple like fruit. Well, I ate mine like that but my friend preferred hers with other toppings such as yogurt and banana mix.
