Most times, you will find both the ripe and unripe soursop but I would advise that you purchase the semi-ripe one if you won’t eat it immediately and within 24 hours. But if otherwise, you can pick the fruit at its unripened or semi-ripe stage.

You would identify the unripe fruit when it is still green in color. It gradually becomes yellow-green when it is mature and a bit softer when you press it with your fingers or full palm.

You can buy the unripe fruit and store it at room temperature while you preserve the mature fruit in the refrigerator. The maturity usually takes a few days to ripen.

There are ways you can enjoy this custard-apple like fruit. Well, I ate mine like that but my friend preferred hers with other toppings such as yogurt and banana mix.

So, if you would want a special delight of your soursop milkshake, then you can add other flavours to it such as ice cream, juices, oatmeal, or even include the fruit to make cakes and bread.
